Whip It to Shreds - DEVO/Blondie
Having been an adoring fan of both bands since about 1978/79, I went to this concert loving DEVO, Back In Black - A Tribute To AC/DC, and David Bowie. My bedroom decor and my way of dressing as a twelve/thirteen year old boy was all about.
They sounded great! I had really high hopes for seeing both bands' performances, but I think DEVO put on a better show: more engaging and a hell of a lot of energy.
She and the band were still interesting to see none-the-less, and she surprised a few people by performing a couple cover songs (i.e. Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 'Relax'). Sometimes it seemed like she struggled with remembering lyrics (i.e. 'One Way or Another') and at other times she blew me away with how well she could remember the lyrics, even the complicated ones ('Rapture'). God bless Debbie Harry, but she just doesn't seem to have the vocal range she used to.
I still listen to them these days) and am so glad I had the chance to be there in KILLER SEATS, too! I have always wanted to see both of these bands that were such an important part of my formative years. I even saw legendary Rodney Bingenheimer in his GTO.
